Gold income is very favorable, and there are plenty of ways to hunt down improved rarity of drops (guaranteed minimum prize just for entering leagues, all pvp rewards being boosted by default, boosts in certain side-areas of campaign, daily Loot Fairy/Hidden Bandit loot boosts).
